Engineering Olympiads
Main focus
The primary goal is to foster technical knowledge and transversal skills (soft skills), such as team management, leadership, and problem-solving, among Engineering students.
Competition Format
The event typically takes place over a one or two-day period. Student teams are challenged to solve practical and multidisciplinary problems that simulate “real-world” Engineering scenarios.
Interdisciplinarity
The event is designed to be appealing and relevant to students from all Engineering courses at UMinho (covering both the Braga and Guimarães campuses), encouraging the exchange of knowledge across different fields.
Institutional Support
The initiative benefits from the involvement and support of faculty members from the various Engineering departments, who assist in formulating the challenges and serve on the evaluation jury.
